22nd Kansas Volunteer Infantry Regiment

The 22nd Kansas Volunteer Infantry Regiment was organized and mustered into active Federal service for the Spanish American War fought in 1898 between the United States and Spain.  The officers and soldiers of the regiment were from farms, small towns, and Kansas City, Kansas.

The regiment was stationed at Camp Alger, Falls Church, Virginia and Camp Meade, Middletown, Pennsylvania and prepared for battle in Cuba or Puerto Rico, but the war ended earlier than expected.  The 22nd Kansas was among many regiments in southern camps that prepared for war and suffered casualties not in battle but from disease.

This history report includes a roster of assigned personnel with hometown, date of muster in and out, and any change in rank.
